Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is a perfectly safe and natural state of mind that we all naturally experience whilst doing everyday things like daydreaming or being absorbed in a good book. Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis to make therapeutic changes to a person.

Whilst in hypnosis you will be fully aware of yourself and your surroundings. The experience of Hypnosis varies from person to person but most clients describe it as a lovely sense of deep relaxation. It is this tool which allows us to concentrate fully on the issue in hand whilst the normal barriers to your subconscious are lowered. Lasting and effective changes can then be made.

Neuro Linguistic Programming NLP

NLP helps to improve the way you communicate with others, manage your thoughts, moods, behaviours, think more clearly and run your life the way you want to. You could describe NLP as an owners manual for the brain

It is an invaluable tool when combined with Hypnotherapy to improve communication skills, to assist in problem solving and can help an individual to achieve personal and professional goals.

Another really effective use of NLP is to modify unhelpful beliefs like fears and phobias and also to alter behavioural traits to succeed in stopping smoking and changing attitudes to food and healthy eating behaviours.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy CBT

It has long been established that the way you think effects the way you feel and ultimately that has an impact on how you behave. An example of this would be to think that your life /problem has to remain the same and nothing will ever change. Your mood will be affected by this and then your behaviour. You, however do not believe this because if you did you would not be looking at this website and investigating how to make those changes. Well done this is the first step.

CBT looks at unhelpful thinking patterns and helps you to learn to change the way you think and feel leading to a healthy more balanced state.

CBT with Hypnotherapy is often used to help clients with phobias, sleep problems, social phobia, anxiety, panic attacks, anger management, personal and professional goals as well as depression.

Transactional Analysis TA

TA looks at the way we respond to other people, situations and ourselves. It gives a model to understand what drives us to respond in that way and how we can change that response for the better.

Guided Imagery

Guided imagery leads a person through a potentially stressful situation in a calm way whilst in a relaxed state. Imagine taking your driving test having been through the whole test a number of times in a calm controlled and relaxed way whilst in Hypnosis. This is a very effective therapy.
